Sixth Sense

Cost: 1 Character Point / Level

The Sixth Sense Attribute reflects a character's supernatural perceptions. This does not reflect a character who is extremely attentive to their surroundings or has a particularly sharp sense (those would be reflected by the Heightened Awareness or Heightened Senses Attributes); instead this reflects a character's ability to perceive things that are outside of normal perceptions. In some situations, the character will simply perceive something with their sense. In order situations, the story-teller may require a roll to notice some detail. Not all sixth senses are appropriate for all campaigns. Each level of this attribute allows the character to select one of the senses below:

  • Combat Sense: the character has a sense of the ebb and flow of combat and does not suffer penalties for being attacked from behind or while flanked (they still suffer penalties for moving past an enemy combatant though).
  • Danger Sense: the character can detect nearby threats and will never be surprised by an attack. As such, they cannot be ambushed and will not suffer penalties to Initiative due to such a situation. In some cases, the character may be allowed a roll to determine the nature of the danger.
  • Detect Evil: the character has a supernatural sense of powerful evil emanations from anything from serial killers to demons. In some situations, they may even be sensitive enough to detect evil actions, even if the perpetrator isn't normally evil.
  • Detect Magic: the character may sense magic in their vicinity, including magical items.
  • Detect Virtue: the character has a supernatural sense of powerful virtuous emanations from anything from good samaritans to angels. In some situations, they may even be sensitive enough to detect virtuous actions, even if the perpetrator isn't normally virtuous.
  • Empathy: the character may detect the emotions of people in their vicinity.
  • Force Sensitive: the character may detect the Force within all life and may be a candidate for Jedi training.
  • Sense Deception: the character may detect when they are being lied to. Note that this does not detect the absolute truth of a statement and instead detects if the speaker is attempting to deceive the character.
  • Sense Spirits: the character may see spirits, as well as anyone using Astral Projection. This sense may allow a character to detect possessions as well.
