Light Armor

Cost: 1 Character Point / Level

The Light Armor attribute represents the natural armor of particularly tough creatures (or individuals) or personal armor. There are several options that modify the function or cost of the armor. This attribute may be taken multiple times with different sets of options, if desired.

  • Partial: The armor has a weak spot that may be targeted by making a called shot. If this weak spot provides 1/2 protection, the total cost (not the cost per level) of the armor is reduced by 1 character point (to a minimum of 1 character point). If this weak spot provides no protection, the total cost (not the cost per level) of the armor is reduced by 2 character points (to a minimum of 1 character point).
  • Hidden: The armor is not obvious and the character may wear it without provoking unwanted attention. Hidden armor is weaker, providing less protection as detailed in the chart below.
  • Optimized Armor: The armor is optimized for a specific uncommon attack form (the storyteller has to approve the attack form) and protects double against this form of attack (although it does not provide protection against other forms of attack). Examples (which may or may not be allowed in a given game) include: lasers, heat, cold, electricity, acid, etc. Consider also the Special Defense Attribute to represent specific resistances.

Level 4 10 points of damage reduction (4 if Hidden).
Level 5 12 points of damage reduction (5 if Hidden).
Level 6 15 points of damage reduction (6 if Hidden).
