Environmental Control

Cost: 1-2 Character Points / Level

This Attribute reflects a character's ability to create environmental effects over an area determined by the level. There are many different effects that a character can generate; each effect must be purchased separately and may have different levels. Some effects are more powerful than others and as such, cost 2 points per level.

Light - 1 Point per level
The character may illuminate an area as brightly as if the sun were shining.

Dark - 1-2 Points per level
The character may cloak an area in darkness (this could be supernatural darkness, the effects of summoned smoke or fog, or anything else along those lines). If they may only dim an area to night-time levels (potentially providing a small bonus to Stealth rolls in the area), this Attribute costs 1 point per level. If they may create absolute darkness (effectively inflicting blindness on those within the area), this Attribute costs 2 points per level.

Silence - 1-2 Points per level
The character may create a zone of silence. If the zone prevents sounds from crossing its boundary (people without cannot hear within or vice-versa), it costs 1 point per level. If it is a blanket area in which no sound may exist (anyone within the zone is silenced), this Attribute costs 2 points per level.

Temperature 1-2 Points per level
The character may either increase or decrease the temperature of an area (at 1 point per level) or may do both (at 2 points per level). These temperature changes are not enough to snap freeze objects in the environment or to light them on fire - for such offensive actions a character should probably create a Weapon Attack. The character may create hostile environments (making survival rolls more difficult) or potentially ease such environments if they are temperature based.

Weather 1-2 Points per level
The character may alter the weather to create various conditions. If the desired weather is normal for the area, the range affected is as per their level. If it is abnormal (such as rain in the desert) or violent (hurricanes, lightning storms, etc.), the range is reduced by 1 level (or 2 levels if it is both abnormal for the area and violent). Storm based attacks should be created with the Weapon Attack Attribute. To keep abnormal or violent weather under control, the character may need to make an appropriate stat check (depending on how the Environmental Control is accomplished), although the character should receive a bonus if they are controlling an area that is smaller than their maximum (if they are controlling a level 2 area but have level 4 Environmental Control, they would have a 2 point bonus). Weather will likely take several rounds to build up or disperse. General Weather Control costs 2 points per level, whereas a specific kind of weather (summoning rain, dispersing clouds, calling wind, etc.) would only cost 1 point per level.
